Barbara L. George

With both her parents immersed in the arts, Barbara’s exposure to the world was appreciative and respectful of all people.  But this was a tumultuous time in the City’s history with a political faction promoting segregation and discrimination. This experience taught Barbara how cruel prejudice was and that it robbed both sides of their humanity.

This lesson ultimately inspired Barbara to begin what would become her life’s mission to promote better relations between all our diverse cultures which also inspired Barbara to write and illustrate her first children’s book, ‘Earth Day, a Universal Bedtime Story’ which offers children an objective perspective…in which they see themselves as the stars do, with a more distant, yet more loving perspective.
